Torraccia del Piantavigna Gattinara DOCG
100% Nebbiolo. Garnet red in color with a golden rim that develops with aging, the wine has a fine and pleasant nose, with a hint of violets. On the palate, it is dry and harmonious, with a lightly tannic aftertaste.
The 2015 vintage was an exceptional year and this is probably our greatest Gattinara to date. The wine has already reached an unusual level of maturity after only 4 years. It has all the complexity and minerality that one expects from a volcanic terroir combined with the elegance associated with the wines of Alto Piemonte
“The underlying phylosophy of the winery is to make wines that exalt the natural properties of the grape, exploiting the cooler climate of the foothills of the alps to produce wines of elegance. Wood is used sparingly and almost exclusively medium to large casks to not mask the wines natural characteristics. ”
