Strong ruby red with garnet highlights, Fantini “Casale Vecchio” Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC has intense, persistent, fruity notes with strong aromas of ripe red fruits, amaretto, marzipan, and spices. Dry and warm, with elegant tannins. A wine of excellent flavor and balanced.

Vineyards: From vineyards located in Colonnella, Ancarano, and Controguerra
Altitude: 80-250 meters (260-820 feet) above sea level
Soil: A mixed terrain composed of medium-textured terrain, limestone, and clay. The subsoil, is composed of organic matter and rocks.
Vine Training: Tendone “bower” trained
Vine Age: 25-40 years
Time of Harvest: Late October
Vine Density: 1,600-2,000 vines per hectare
Vine Yield: 6-9 tons per hectare
Total Production: 120,000 bottles
Vinification Process: The grapes undergo de-stalking and soft pressing, followed by maceration and fermentation on the skins at a controlled temperature for 20 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in barriques.
Aging Process: The wine ages in barriques for six months.
