Italy’s bold Sangiovese-based Brunello also makes the list, along with a Verdicchio from an undersung region in Marche.

Bucci 2019 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore
95 Points, #2 ENTHUSIAST 100 2021
“This gorgeous white opens with enticing aromas of Mediterranean herb, yellow spring flower, eucalyptus and citrus. The delicious palate delivers juicy yellow peach, fennel, white almond and the barest hint of grapefruit alongside tangy acidity. A mineral note suggesting saline adds depth. It’s an absolutely phenomenal showing.” -Kerin O’Keefe
