These are some of the most popular varieties in the world, and wine lovers across the country look to California, Washington and Bordeaux to provide the gamut of expressions, from value priced pours to premium, ageworthy bottles. Italy’s bold Sangiovese-based Brunello also makes the list, along with a Verdicchio from an undersung region in Marche.
While supplies last, here are the top 15 most searched wines of 2021:
Bucci 2019 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore
95 Points, #2 ENTHUSIAST 100 2021
“This gorgeous white opens with enticing aromas of Mediterranean herb, yellow spring flower, eucalyptus and citrus. The delicious palate delivers juicy yellow peach, fennel, white almond and the barest hint of grapefruit alongside tangy acidity. A mineral note suggesting saline adds depth. It’s an absolutely phenomenal showing.” -Kerin O’Keefe
